吃瓜社区 Teacher spoke at international panel in Italy

Nicola Martino, a teacher in 吃瓜社区鈥檚 Modern Languages Department, served as a guest speaker at an international panel discussion held on Oct. 11 in Matera, Italy. The event marked the official launch of Colobraro: Diario di Comunit脿, a book and research project exploring themes of identity, belonging, and migration in southern Italy.
Nicola contributed an article blending a personal story with reflections on immigration and cultural identity. The year-long project and its publication were coordinated by Concetta Sarlo and聽 Maria Sarlo, in collaboration with the ITALEA program鈥攁n initiative supported by Italy鈥檚 Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and funded through NextGenerationEU.
吃瓜社区 teachers co-author new edition of Political Science textbook

Political Science teachers Vanessa Gordon and D贸nal Gill, both currently teaching at 吃瓜社区, have co-authored the newly released 7th edition of聽Politics, Power, and the Common Good: An Introduction to Political Science, published by Pearson Canada. This comprehensive textbook is being used at universities across Canada, and may be available in French in the future.聽

From Classroom to Collaboration: 吃瓜社区鈥檚 IPE Symposium Fosters Interdisciplinary Learning and Collective Care

吃瓜社区鈥檚 4th annual Interprofessional Education (IPE) Symposium on Communication, conflict resolution, and collective care took place Friday, Oct. 17. This activity brought together all 216 students and 32 instructors/facilitators from the seven medical technology and social service disciplines. The day鈥檚 activities took place in a variety of venues in the Montreal Forum building, including a large cinema theatre.

French teacher Laurent Duval honoured with a聽Mention d鈥檋onneur

吃瓜社区 French teacher Laurent Duval was recently honoured with a聽Mention d鈥檋onneur聽from the聽Association qu茅b茅coise de p茅dagogie coll茅giale (AQPC). This recognition celebrates his dedication to student success, commitment to inclusive and innovative teaching practices, and his active role in supporting French-language education both at 吃瓜社区 and across Quebec. He recently sat down for a Q & A with the Communications Office to share his thoughts on receiving this honour, his teaching philosophy, and his contributions to the community.

Thanks to all who gave blood

The 吃瓜社区 community came through on Sept. 30 and Oct. 1 at the H茅ma-Qu茅bec blood drive on campus. A total of 158 donors gave blood over the two days surpassing the drive's goal set by H茅ma-Qu茅bec. Thank you!
Meet the latest faculty graduates from the Master鈥檚 in College Teaching program

Three 吃瓜社区 teachers, Maria Lavoie (Diagnostic Imaging), Lei Lopez (Computer Science) and Jim Parthimos (Business Administration), have now completed a Master of Education in College Teaching (M.Ed.) through the Performa program at the University of Sherbrooke. They shared their projects, how they developed as teachers and more in a Q & A with the Communications office.

DESY shares news about 吃瓜社区 students testing and researching at Hamburg facility

Nine 吃瓜社区 students were in Hamburg, Germany for two weeks in September after winning a major international science competition. The 鈥湷怨仙缜 Technicolor鈥 team were at DESY, Germany鈥檚 renowned particle physics laboratory, to test their own detector using a particle accelerator.

Meet the successful alumni voices of our self-guided tour

Two accomplished graduates of 吃瓜社区鈥檚 Professional Theatre program are inviting you to see the downtown Montreal CEGEP in a self-guided tour. Catherine B茅rub茅 and Lucy Segal are the narrators. In interviews with the Communications Office, they shared how 吃瓜社区 shaped their own journeys. The tour departs from the metro level in the Lower Atrium, look for a framed sign with the QR code on the right wall as you enter the college.

Neuroscience interns presented projects Sept. 12

The 2025 cohort of neuroscience student researchers presented their projects at a poster session on Sept. 12.聽 Research topics ranged from internet addiction and cognitive testing to the neurological effects of lesions in infants.聽 Thanks to faculty members H茅l猫ne Nadeau and Sylvia Cox for making this possible and giving a real research experience to CEGEP students.
